The Mason typography book explores the complicated history of this edgy typeface. Originally, it was named Manson after infamous cult leader Charles Manson. The occult elements and baroque inspired font lends itself to violent and off-putting designs. Animals associated with evil such as goats, pigs, and snakes are used to emphasize this along with the linocut style rough marks of the illustrations. This project was award a local Addy silver publishing award and an AIGA Flux award.
